Accreditation

Washington University in St. Louis has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1913.

Accreditation ensures Washington University’s compliance with all rules and requirements issued by the HLC concerning changes of and additions to Washington University’s academic programs.

We were last re-accredited in 2014 when Washington University underwent an on-site evaluation visit by a team of trained peer reviewers assigned by the HLC. As of 2015, Washington University participates in the HLC’s  Open Pathway accreditation process.
